1. How do the lessons work?
With Parlando Italiano you can choose between face-to-face lessons at your home/office in London, or Skype lessons. We offer Italian tuition to students of all ages (including children and teenagers) and all levels (from Beginners to Advanced). Lessons will be totally personalised depending on your individual needs, and teaching materials will be supplied free of charge.
2. When can I start?
We work throughout the year, so you can start whenever you want. Just let us know your availability and individual needs and we will send you an email with a link to schedule your first class. Please, keep in mind that lessons can only take place at least 24 hours after booking them.
3. What do I need to have to start my Skype lessons?
To start taking Skype lessons, you will need:
- A good Internet connection.
A computer, laptop or tablet. Most of our students only use the microphone and speakers installed in their device to take their classes. Should you want an even better sound quality, you may use a headset or headphones and an external microphone.
A Skype account. If you don’t have Skype, you can download it here.
4. Is video used or just audio during Skype lessons?
Video is an essential part of our lessons, so you will need to turn your webcam on. In this way, your tutor and you will be able to see each other and your conversations will be more natural.
5. I’m not very good with technology. Are Skype lessons suitable for me?
Yes, of course! You don’t have to be an expert in technology to take online lessons. For the trial lesson, we will send you your teacher’s Skype contact details so that you can add them to your contact list. After that, you will only need to login into your Skype account and your teacher will call you.
6. Are Skype lessons suitable for children and teenagers?
We currently have a large number of children and teenagers learning Italian online with us. The teaching techniques are slightly different depending on the student’s age, so email info@myitalianlessons.co.uk and give us more information about the student’s needs in order to find the most suitable tutor for them.
7. Is it possible to book a trial lesson?
Yes, you can book a free 30-minute trial lesson by Skype or a 60-minute trial lesson at your home/office with a 15% discount. In this way you can get to know your teacher and see how our lessons work. Click here to book your trial lesson.
8. After the trial lesson, am I committed to further lessons?
No, the trial lesson will give you the possibility to get to know your teacher and discover more about our method. After that, you can decide whether to continue or not.
9. How long is each lesson?
Lessons last 60 minutes (standard lessons) or 90 minutes (long lessons). If you want a 2-hour lesson, you can book two 60-minute lessons, one after the other.
10. How much are the lessons?
Prices change depending on the number and type of lessons (Skype or face-to-face) you want to take. Please check our Price List for further information.
11. How many lessons can I buy?
You can buy as many lessons as you want depending on your individual needs and the Italian language level you want to reach. Click here to have a look at our different kinds of packages.
12. How do I book my lessons?
You can book your lessons very easily and quickly through our booking system. If you want more information about how to use it, please check our booking guide.
13. How do I pay?
You can pay for your lessons through our fast and secure online payment system, Stripe, one of the most popular and trusted international payment platforms online. We accept all major credit and debit cards from customers in every country.
14. Can I cancel and reschedule my lessons?
Yes, you can cancel and reschedule your lessons provided you give at least 24 hours’ notice. Otherwise lessons will be charged as per normal conditions. And please note, if you cancel your trial class by Skype less than 24 hours in advance, you will miss the opportunity to receive it for free.
15. How long are my lessons valid?
Packages have different expiration dates depending on the number of lessons they contain:
Packs of 5 hours expire 2 months (×8 weeks) after the date of purchase.
Packs of 10 hours expire 3 months (×12 weeks) after the date of purchase.
Packs of 20 hours expire 6 months (×24 weeks) after the date of purchase.
16. Can I share a lesson with a friend, relative, or partner?
Yes, if you want to take lessons with a friend, relative or partner, and you have the same Italian level, please email info@myitalianlessons.co.uk to let us know the total number of students, and we will be happy to quote for this.
17. Are all teachers native and qualified Italian speakers?
Yes, all our teachers are native Italian speakers, have a language teaching certificate and a broad range of experience teaching Italian to foreign students.
18. Can I have the same teacher throughout the course?
Of course! You can receive all your lessons with the same teacher.
19. Can I change my teacher?
Even if we usually recommend taking lessons with the same teacher to have more continuity, you can change your teacher if you wish.
20. What happens if I have Internet problems during Skype lessons?
If you have an occasional problem with your Internet connection, you will be able to reschedule your lesson. If you have a persistent problem, you will need to fix it in order to receive your following lessons.
21. What happens if my teacher has Internet problems during Skype lessons?
If your teacher has problems with their Internet connection and this prevents you having a lesson, you will be able to reschedule it for a later date.
22. I will need a certificate at the end of the course. Could you provide it?
Yes, if you need a certificate of attendance at the end of the course, just let us know and we will be happy to provide one for you.
23. My company is going to pay for the course. Can you send me an invoice?
Yes, of course. Just let us know your company’s details (name, VAT number and address) and we will send it to you. Remember that we will need all this information in advance.
